Ok so i was just cruising the myspace music page and i find a link to Scarlett Johanson's tunes. And i'm intrigued since i didnt know she had any musical talent. So i go investigate. I am further interested when i see that the genre reads indie/alternative. Upon navigating my way to the music page and listening to a few tracks i am thoroughly dissapointed. I could not call her husky low murmuring singing. The only good part of her songs are the background musicians who get no credit for the only bit of talent in the songs.
Im sick of actors trying to be musicians just because they want to try something different and know they will instantly get recognised and praised just because they're famous. There have only been a very select few who have managed to pull it off ( Jared Leto, Juliette Lewis) but the majority just plainly suck. Stick to what you're good at and don't make the rest of us suffer while you wail your little heart out.

Scarlett Johansson's entire album consists of one original song and the rest are just covers of Tom Waits songs. I think that her voice is unique and mellow enough to cover those songs even though it wasn't anything revolutionary. She isn't a song writer or a musician (which she admits) but I personally think she is a good vocalist. My favourite song of hers is 'falling down', although I have only ever heard 4 of her songs in total.
I think it's nice that people try new things and explore new boundaries. I mean I'm sure you wouldn't mind acting if you had the chance to. It would be a nice experience. :)
